Family Finding Services
Find Families In Mexico identifies and locates biological parents, grandparents and other adult relatives living in Mexico and Central America so U.S. foster children can move into permanent homes with blood relatives.
With more than 20 years of experience we have developed a very high success rate in locating the family members your organization needs to find. In fact, we usually find additional adult relatives who can provide a support system for the foster child and his/her new family.
Central America Services
Our services also encompass Central American countries with a focus on Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.
What We Do
Based on the information provided by county agencies and their non-profit partners, we conduct a targeted family finding of a specific city in Mexico or Central America where it is likely that family member(s) will be found. We provide a comprehensive analysis of city records and a written report on our findings that includes contact details on known and potential relatives.
Our family finding services include but are not limited to:
Family finding of a parent, grandparent or other adult relatives associated with a foster child case.
Disrupted international adoptions.
Locating a parent for notification in a child custody case.
Obtaining important legal documents such as birth certificates.
How it works
Your case information is entered into the Profile BuilderTM, our proprietary system for organizing and analyzing the data provided by county agencies. Our specialists go over the information to ensure accuracy and to determine if additional data is required before a Family Finding can be started.
Our Family Finding Reports
Every search provides a detailed report listing known and potential family members and their complete contact information.
Results consist of current addresses and listed telephone numbers for up to four (4) relatives whose names are provided by the agency.
In addition, we will search for up to six (6) possible relatives. For those potential relatives we identify, all available contact information will be supplied.
Levels of Service
Find Families In Mexico offers three levels of Family Finding:
Level I: All available non-governmental records are accessed to locate up to four (4) known family members. This process takes about two weeks.
Level II: This Family Finding is an in-depth search of all accessible government documents. Two months must be provided for this search because this requires responses from government agencies in both the U.S. and Mexico.
Level III: Diligence in countries in Central America such as Guatemala and Honduras is a Level III. Costs are determined on a case-by-case basis.
